Jayce and Viktor will have a difficult journey ahead of them in Arcane season 2. The show primarily tells the story of two sisters in the League of Legends universe, as they desperately try to survive and protect each other. They are not the only major characters, however. There are also inventors, politicians, prison guards, gang leaders, and numerous other elements that come together to make the critically acclaimed show. After a long wait, they will all reappear soon, as Arcane season 2 is expected to premiere on Netflix on November 9.

Viktor and Jayce are also expected to rejoin the show for its premiere. In an interview with Screen Rant, co-creator Christian Linke opened up about the Jayce and Viktor storyline. While he did not want to reveal too much about their narrative, given that their survival remains a mystery, he did allude to a compelling season 2 story for the two inventors. Check out his full quote below:
I mean, for the two of them, it's really about what this technology that they've invented offers society. I think even the end of season 1, there's Jayce starting to get afraid of the weaponization of Hextech, and of what's possible, what can be done with Hextech. I think Viktor sees more the opportunity, and sees, also, probably more and more the challenges of the shortcomings of the people meddling with it.
So yeah, I don't want to say too much. But, of course, a big event happened to the end of season 1, where I'm not going to say what happens, but, it's a big, pivotal moment, right as we get into season 2 for them.

What Arcane Season 2 Means For Jayce & Viktor
The Season 1 Cliffhanger Ruined Their Plans
Before Jayce and Viktor's stories can be continued, the story will need to establish if they are alive at all. Arcane season 1 ended with a cliffhanger that saw Jinx's missile slam into the council shortly after they agreed to a peace treaty with Zaun. It ensured that war between the two cities was inevitable, which is painful after Jayce and Viktor invested so much into achieving peace. Their entire season 1 arc has been put on hold, while all of Piltover grapples with the disastrous attack.
The strike changes everything and could very well leave Viktor torn between his Zaun roots and his life in Piltover.

Thankfully, it is not likely that both were killed by the blast. While Jayce remains in danger, Viktor's shimmer enhancements will save him from the direct effects of the assault. Jayce may not have embraced the Hextech, but Viktor has already seen the benefits, even if he has also seen the devastating impact that it can have on the innocent. The strike changes everything and could very well leave Viktor torn between his Zaun roots and his life in Piltover. The Arcane season 2 trailer already revealed that war is coming, and Viktor will be hard-pressed to choose a side.
Our Take On Jayce & Viktor's Season 2 Story
Peace Is No Longer An Option

Jayce and Viktor's story was about corruption and recovery. They both sunk to true lows while attempting to embrace scientific discovery, and they both learned about the horrors of unchecked experimentation. Unfortunately, while they sought peace at all costs, they will now suffer for it. As the war progresses, Viktor will need to reconsider the utility of the Hextech. After all, it is not helpful to introduce such a stunning device without actually using it in battle. If Jayce is alive, it will be interesting to see how he handles the impact of Arcane season 1's plot twist as well.
