Happy Shrove Tuesday, also known as Pancake Day. Shrove Tuesday (Fat Tuesday) is the day before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent. It is tradition to eat pancakes on this day because it is the last day to indulge before giving up foods that aren’t allowed during Lent. Pancakes are the perfect food to eat because they contain butter, eggs, flour, and sugar-foods most people give up for Lent. It is also National Pancake Week. Yay for pancakes! We love pancakes at our house so today we are sharing a few of our favorite pancake recipes to help you celebrate Shrove Tuesday and National Pancake Week.

  10. We made your chocolate dutch baby for our pancake dinner and it was delicious! We also had strawberries. I got a little fancy and whipped up some cream and added in orange zest, and fried up some bacon. Perfect breakfast for dinner. My mom has made dutch baby for as long as I can remember, but never a chocolate one. I’ll definitely be sharing the recipe with her!

  21. I tried this amazing recipe to make peanut butter and jelly oatmeal pancakes the other day. It tastes best when served with strawberry jam.
Combine 1 1/2 cup oats, 3/4 cup flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, sugar, and salt each in a large bowl. Set bowl aside. In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 cups skim milk, 2 eggs, peanut butter, and 3 tablespoons melted peanut butter. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and stir in the wet ingredients, being careful not to over mix the batter. Now, heat a large skillet over medium heat, and coat with cooking spray. Spoon the batter and cook the pancakes well on both sides.
