Critics Consensus
Finally getting the band back together, Picard's final season boldly goes where the previous generation had gone before -- and is all the better for it.
Melanie McFarland Salon.com It is not like Star Trek: The Next Generation, in the sense that it mimics a conspiracy thriller as opposed to a philosophically driven space odyssey. But it is "Star Trek," and a fitting closer Mar 2, 2023 Full Review Ed Power Daily Telegraph (UK) It’s wonderful. It’s also officially the end. Trekkies will be overjoyed – and then devastated the fun is over almost as soon as it has begun. Rated: 4/5 Feb 18, 2023 Full Review Eric Deggans NPR The only question left — at least for me — is whether Paramount Global will have the good sense to keep a great Trek series going, just as it has finally found a thrilling new voice. Feb 16, 2023 Full Review Ilan Preskovsky Channel24 (South Africa) The second season completely tied up most of its characters and storylines and cleared the stage for current showrunner, Terry Matalas, to finally make the Next Generation sequel that fans had wanted all along. Rated: 4.5/5 Jul 25, 2023 Full Review Jessie Gender Jessie Gender YouTube Channel While the season provides excellent reunions and nostalgic moments, it also serves as a reminder of the missteps of 90s-era Star Trek that other modern Trek series have moved past. It's a bittersweet goodbye; but a necessary one for Trek to move forward. May 2, 2023 Full Review Matthew Simpson That Shelf This is reportedly the last season of Picard, and it’s fitting that it goes out on an emotional high and leaves the door open for new adventures. Thavash G The only good Star Trek in the last 20 years. Rated 5/5 Stars •Rated 5 out of 5 stars06/08/24 Full Review Joseph O PIC S3 finally proves that an adventure that reunites the Enterprise D crew was exactly the story that needed to be told on this show. Its just a shame this storyline couldn't have been spread over the three seasons, instead of just the last one! Rated 5/5 Stars •Rated 5 out of 5 stars06/02/24 Full Review Jessi B Best season of Picard. Having the old gang back is exactly what the show needed! Rated 5/5 Stars •Rated 5 out of 5 stars05/11/24 Full Review Robert C An I love you letter to Star Trek fans especially TNG DS9 and Voyager fans. Rated 5/5 Stars •Rated 5 out of 5 stars04/24/24 Full Review Travis C What do you do when a bunch of middle aged fans can't handle new stuff? You pander endlessly to them. Rated 3/5 Stars •Rated 3 out of 5 stars04/07/24 Full Review Pablo B After a disappointing season 1, and a dreadful season 2, season 3 was what everyone had hoped for in this spin off series. This season had the right amount of nostalgia blended with a new story. A couple of new characters really make this season shine with Jack Crusher and Liam Shaw. I was so sad after the season ended but hopeful that a spin off will arise for Jack Crusher. Rated 5/5 Stars •Rated 5 out of 5 stars04/02/24 Full Review Read all reviews

Season Three of Picard is wildly cinematic. It's almost as if we've been given five more Next Generation feature films rather than a single ten-episode TV season. The production value is high indeed, but never feels as glossy or excessive as it does on other recent Trek series.
When the villainous Vadic was introduced as the big bad in “Star Trek: Picard” Season 3, viewers knew there had to be more to her than possessing a super powerful warship. As the season progressed, her true, tragic origin was revealed. Here's everything we know about the villainous Vadic.
"Red Lady" was a code name given to the Rachel Garrett statue that was due to be dedicated in a ceremony during the pre-Frontier Day recruitment drive that took place in 2401, at the site of a Starfleet Recruitment building in District Seven on M'talas Prime.
Simply put, Janeway only gets mentioned because both time and budgetary limitations meant a cameo appearance wasn't possible. There is also the fact that Janeway was appearing on Star Trek: Prodigy, which was airing its first season when Picard Season 3 was filming.
