Zimber (2024)

Zimber, also known as The Stalker, is a major antagonist in the YouTube channel AlongCameJosh, appearing as the secondary antagonist in the first season of the Minecraft Creepypasta series, being the titular main antagonist of the episodes of the same name. He is an obsessive, clingy and mysterious player who turns out to be a full-on stalker who enacts his revenge on players who have wronged him.

He was portrayed by Mordit, who also portrayed The Farlands Man in the same series.

Biography[]

First Encounter[]

The first encounter details an experience had by a Minecraft player named Roland, whom encounters Zimber in a multiplayer server.

Roland joins UltimaCraft, a Minecraft multiplayer server. He goes to build a house despite no one being online, except for one player who mysteriously joins; Zimber. Zimber accompanies Roland in building his wooden house and appears to be getting along well with him. However, Roland starts to get weirded out by Zimber asking him his age and where he lives. As Zimber suggests coming to his house to play (as they don't appear to live very far apart, according to Zimber), Roland tells him he has to go, and that he'll be back soon to play again. Zimber becomes frustrated and enraged, saying he can't leave as they're best friends and calling him a liar. Zimber attacks Roland as he exits and joins his singleplayer world.

Roland enters his singleplayer world, ready to finish his house. However, things start changing in his world as his house is struck by lightning and the forest around him burning. Zimber appears in the chat, asking Roland why he left him back in UltimaCraft. Zimber appears before Roland and blinds him. As Roland tries to run, Zimber types "KNOCK KNOCK" before attacking Roland and crashing the game.

As soon as Zimber says "KNOCK KNOCK", Roland recounts hearing someone knock at his door, but didn't answer it, and hasn't heard another knock since then. He then says he was able to contact the owner of UltimaCraft to ban Zimber, which was successful.

Second Encounter[]

The second encounter with Zimber follows a player named Sarah. Sarah joins her favourite Minecraft server, SpideyMC, with no one else in the server. As she explores her town, Zimber greets her in the chat and asks if he can come to her secret village. Despite pleading her to let him visit, Sarah denies him and refuses his teleportation request as she goes back to building her house. Unfortunately for her, Zimber finds his way to her village and begins exploring her house by himself. Zimber asks if she can allow him to build, but she tells him she can't as she hasn't claimed the land, and telling him she can't trust him. Zimber becomes aggressive and threatens her before attacking her with a diamond sword.

Sarah disconnects before he can kill her and decides to play on her singleplayer world instead. As she wanders around her village, Zimber appears in the chat and tells Sarah he only wanted to play with her and spamming "I HATE YOU" in the chat. As Sarah tries to run, Zimber gives her the blindess effect and chases her, killing her in the end.

Sarah states she refused to play Minecraft for a week after the incident with Zimber and goes onto the SpideyMC Discord server to ask if anyone else had experienced an encounter with Zimber. A user replies to her, telling her that Zimber is a stalker and that she should delete her singleplayer world. After this, she doesn't play on SpideyMC anymore.

Personality[]

At first glance, Zimber appears as a friendly, jovial, kind and playful, usually greeting players in a friendly manner and offering to come and help them with their builds. It is unknown if this is merely a facade to get close to players or if Zimber is genuinely looking for a friend to play with. Zimber also asks slightly unnerving questions to his "friends", such as where they live and how old they are, a sign that Zimber can easily become attached to someone who shows him kindness.

As Zimber gradually begins to lose his temper with the players, he reveals his true nature, that of a vindictive, vengeful, violent, obsessive and possessive. Zimber attacks players in their singleplayer worlds out of completely nowhere, his vengeful nature leads to violent outbursts against players both pre and post-obsession, calling them liars and declaring his undying hatred for them after they anger/upset him.

• Mordit, who portrays Zimber, describes him as a "crazy ex-girlfriend".
• During a directors live commentary on the series, AlongCameJosh hints at Zimber having supernatural abilities, perhaps even being a supernatural entity.
  • Josh has also stated that Zimber is his second favourite Creepypasta he has created.
