In the beloved poem,A Visit From St. Nicholas by Clement Clarke Moore, the children were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
Just what is a sugarplum? According to Wikipedia...
A sugar plum can be a piece of dragée or hard candy made of hardened sugar in a small round or oval shape. "Plum" in the name of this confection does not always mean plum in the sense of the fruit of the same name, but commonly refers to small size and spherical or oval shape.
Regardless of the actual sugarplum, these children were very smart to bevisualizing the treatsthey wanted to appear for Christmas.
What visions are you putting in your head before you get nestled in for the night? Are you thinking of the potential and future great things you will do? Or of all the crap you just watched on the news, or what is left on yourdidn't get that done list?
Here are 3 tips for planting some sweet thoughts in your dreams each night.
1) View it:If you have a vision board -keep it by your bed, or in the bathroom where you brush your teeth - look at it and remind yourself of what you want to be pursuing in your dreams. If not a vision board, then at least a list of motivational quotes, positive thoughts, and evidence you are getting what you want.
2) Write it:If you like to journal, keep a small journal by your bed and write down the positive things you want to dream about. You can write it in the affirmative -I am so excited that I will have a bowl of sugarplums for Christmas or I can't wait tostart working with my next 5 clients!
3) Listen to it:If you have your list of goals /sweet rewards and positive thoughts, record yourself saying them out loud - repeat them several times and then listen to yourself say them in your own voice before bed!
